By all means, this post is definitely NOT a “How-To” post. A few months ago, I took on another role at work; co-content creator! That’s a thing right? I can add that to my resume? Anyway, I’m now helping my coworker run the store’s Instagram page.
Being a content creator is hard! You kind of have to plan things out. Plan what items you want to pick and post for the day. Often times I find myself standing on the stool to take pictures of our products. Sometimes I even wait to take pictures until a certain time to get that natural lighting. There are days where I post nothing at all or post something at random just to keep our Instagram page updated.
Props to all the full-time Instagrammers, Youtubers, Bloggers that bust ass on a daily basis to provide enjoyable content for their followers and viewers. At my job, a majority of the people that shop here are women that are 40 years old and up. I feel like us as a company needs to expand our horizons and try to reach out to a younger crowd: Millennials.
We can totally do it and I’m confident enough to apply some of the graphic design I’ve learned to do it. My only problem is that I don’t really want to do work stuff when I’m not at work, which is is reasonable. Spend 8-9 hours a day at work and then go home and do more work? No thanks!! I mean, I can log the time I spend working at home to my timecard at work, but I’d rather relax after a long day. That, and having no updated POS system kind of sucks. If you want to keep up with the times, I feel like having an updated POS system will definitely help boost business. For now, I’ll start off with the little things. Update our store hours signs into vinyl door stickers, and possibly update the “Open/Closed” signs along with finalizing our Instagram handleto be put around both stores. Maybe I’ll post up my finished work when it’s all said and done.
